Sadly, what used to be my favourite Chinese restaurant in Llanelli has gone severely downhill. The quality of the food is nowhere near what it used to be, and the service has become a real issue.
The lady at reception, who I believe is new in the last year, is incredibly rude and seems to have no customer service skills whatsoever. I recently placed an order and made a special request for a dish, explaining that the request was due to a food allergy. After a lengthy back-and-forth on the phone, she finally understood the severity of the allergy and assured me everything would be fine.
However, when I got home, I realised that none of my requests had been followed, and the food was completely unsuitable and inedible due to the allergy. When I called back to explain, I was met with an aggressive tone. I wasn’t asking for a refund—just a replacement dish that was safe to eat. Instead of addressing the issue, she abruptly hung up on me.
This isn’t the first issue I’ve experienced since she started working there, and it’s disappointing that her attitude has resulted in such a negative experience. I really hope they address these problems, as it’s such a shame to see a once-great restaurant lose its standards like this.

THIS PLACE HAS GONE WAY DOWN HILL . Awful food. 😖 , chips tasted like they were 5 days old. The food was bland. , and the pancake roll was swimming in Grease. I mean swimmin. , turned me sick 😫 👎

The food here is pretty good most of the time, however tonight I ordered the chicken in lemon sauce as usual but the majority of the chicken was so tough it was inedible. We placed an order at 6:30pm and were told it was a 20 minute wait - 50 minutes later we received our food. They don’t start cooking it until you have paid so would recommend going down asap or even placing order in store. Watched a guy place 2 big orders in store and walked out 10 minutes later with his bags - despite placing his order 20 minutes after our telephone order. This is a frequent occurrence, so be prepared to wait double or near triple the time you were quoted unless you go down straight away.

Used to be 10/10 and our favourite takeaway. Now unfortunately 2/10. Portions have been cut, standards have dropped, less chicken in the curry and more onions instead, service horrendous waiting 45mins longer than collection time provided. Won't ever go here again. What a shame!!!

Having always ordered from Lotus so disappointing to have a meal that was incorrect and the food substandard- tasted burnt. Called to politely explain and was basically told to enjoy and had phone out down on us. Understand this business was busy at this time of year- however very rude and dismissive on phone. After all these years will not be returning.

Food is good. Telephone orders are a waste of time now. They don't put the order in until you arrive and paid so no point in phoning in your order

What’s happened this used to be my favourite takeaway. Tonight however, egg fried rice was so dry it came out of the carton in one piece, and so so dry. The crispy beef was, tough and even with my own teeth I couldn’t chew. The chilly sauce was almost solid but certainly well congealed.
Let me advise you, do not reheat food and sell it as freshly cooked and charge £20 for the privilege to bin it.

Had many different meal's from here which is unusual for me as I tend to stick to the same thing but as the food was so good very clean fresh tasting I wanted to try other thing's. A huge variety to pick from.

Wasn’t as nice as it was, had sweet and sour chicken Cantonese style which was really vinegary, the chips weren’t nice tasted like cheap and cooked in old oil and the fried rice wasn’t as nice. Disappointing.

Best Chinese takeaway in the world. Been going there since the 70s. Miss the older gent who was behind the counter for decades but his replacement is also very friendly 😁

Stopped here between jobs and what a nice takeaway. A very friendly woman served us and the food came out quick and was amazing. My Kung Po chicken was gorgeous and the Singapore Chow Mein was nice and spicy. They even threw in a poppadom ! Definitely recommend 10/10 😁👍🏻
